Albert Mora holds a doctorate in Sociology, a degree in Sociology and a degree in Social work from the University of Valencia. He has worked in various non-governmental organisations and public bodies, including as coordinator of Doctors of the World – Valencian Community’s public health service for immigrants and as head of the intercultural citizenship school of Foundation CeiMigra. He has also trained technicians in issues relating to immigration and cultural diversity, citizenship and the methods and techniques of social research.

He is working as an assistant professor in Valencia University’s Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology.

He has collaborated as a technician in various studies promoted by the National School of Political Sciences and Sociology and has participated in various research groups in the field of immigration, citizenship and human rights. He is a member of the Human Rights Institute of the University of Valencia and of the Interdisciplinary study group on migrations, interculturalism and citizenship at the University of Castilla-la-Mancha. He has participated as a researcher in the following projects funded by the Spanish Government:

  • Diversity and conviviality: human rights as guidelines for action. 2016-2018.
  • Human rights, multicultural societies and conflicts. 2013-2016.
  • Immigration, integration and public policies: guarantee of rights and its evaluation. 2010-2013.

He has also directed several projects required by public administrations, highlighting the following:

  • Social and legal report on the situation of immigrants in the Valencian Region. Valencian Government. 2016-2017.
  • Communitarian dynamization in the city of Puçol (Valencia). 2016-2017.
  • Design of the integration and living together plan of the La Vall d´Uixó City Council. 2016.

He has been visiting research scholar at the Andean Human Rights Programme of the Andean University Simón Bolívar in Ecuador, the Centre for Advanced Migration Studies of the University of Copenhagen, and the Research Unit on Citizenship and Integration at Aarhus University.

His current lines of research focus on integration policies, living together, xenophobia and guarantee of human rights in multicultural societies. He has published several papers and has given different talks regarding to these issues.
